Jenny Landreth is a writer and editor. She is the author of Swimming London (Aurum Press) - a guide to the 50 best places to swim in London. Her swimming blog reviews the best and worst London pools.
In her own words: "I love to swim but don’t expect tips on swimming, except for the tip that says ‘go swimming’. I’m not an expert, I often wonder if wearing a Speedo costume is false advertising, but I do, and will, keep plodding up and down. See you in the water."
Vivienne Rickman-Poole is a well-respected artist. Her #SwimSnowdonia project listed amongst '10 of the most inspiring adventures of 2016′ in The Guardian. Her film, Afterglow, is immense.
In her own words: “An obsessive swimmer, I swim all year round craving the changing seasons on my skin and to feel the huge, massive expanses of deep, dark, nothingness below the surface. To be totally alone out in the middle of the lake, kicking back looking up at the mountains is a truly selfish indulgence."

Meet author Jenny Landreth @ Bloomsbury Institute
We're delighted to invite you to an evening with Jenny Landreth as we celebrate her hilarious and touching waterbiography, Swell on May 4th.
Swell is a bold, joyful account of how women fought their way into the water, and of what they did once they got there. And to illuminate these stories, we've invited well-known artist Vivienne Rickman-Poole for a live interview with Jenny.
Together we expect Jenny and Vivienne to present a fascinating discussion on women's bodies, rights, swimming habits and the eternal quest for the perfect place to swim.
If you're a fan of wild swimming, your local lido or a spot of sea bathing, this event is not to be missed.
